Urban TO WILD

Children need opportunities to fall down and get back up, touch the earth, splash through water, build fires, climb rocks and rediscover their place in the natural world. Unfortunately, Nature has increasingly become something we watch on screens or read about as it slowly disappears. 

We believe it is time to make the outdoors something children can hold, explore and wonder at once again.

Urban to Wild by ECC Adventures aims to build the direct relationship with land and nature that has too often been traded for schedules, concrete and screens. Through progressive, hands-on experiences, children develop practical outdoor skills, confidence, resilience and a deeper understanding of the environments around them.

This is how we hope to achieve and rekindle their connection to nature:

*Wayfinders* introduces essential outdoor skills through practical workshops, challenges and exploration. 

Children will learn navigation, build shelters, understand fire and water, respond to emergencies and become more capable in unfamiliar environments.

*Trackers* takes young adventurers into the mountains. 

Through a progressive series of hikes, children develop fitness, confidence, movement skills and mountain awareness while gaining new perspectives from higher ground.

*Wildings* draws from Forest School principles and child-led outdoor play. 

It gives younger children the freedom to explore, create, take appropriate risks and form their own connections with nature. Through the *Desert School*, we help children understand the land beneath their feet: its wildlife, seasons, scarcity and extremes. It explores the resourcefulness and traditional knowledge that have enabled people to live within the UAE’s desert and mountain environments for centuries.

Urban to Wild is about raising capable, resilient and curious young people—not simply by teaching them about nature, but by bringing them back into it.
